There is no doubt about it the Black Bears are the #1 attraction in the Smoky Mountains. No matter how many times you play mini golf, or visit the cool attractions, seeing a bear is always the most fun.
During spring and summer, it’s not uncommon to see a bear in Gatlinburg. Not just up in the Great Smoky Mountains, but on the city streets and sidewalks as well. Bears have been spotted frequently in the tourist hub.
Do we ever see Black Bears from any of our cabins or within our resort area? Yes!

The most important thing to know about the bears is you DO NOT FEED THE BEARS! Remember we are in their way. Stay a good 50 feet from a bear or any other wildlife you might see and never ever leave food in your car or on the porch or outside where it can attract bears.
The Black Bears of Gatlinburg, Tennessee are just plain cool and we love them. A Fed Bear is a Dead Bear so please do not ever feed the bears. Enjoy them from a distance.
